Rabbi Ari Ackerman
Introducing the most newly married rabbi on campus in America - Rabbi Ari Ackerman! Originally from Highland Park, NJ, Ari is a fan of all sports. He also loves traveling to exotic places and almost died on an ATV during his most recent trip to Costa Rica. In addition to his adventurous side, Ari is also in the process of completing his fourth degree! Following a year and a half studying in Israel after high school, Ari enrolled in Yeshiva University where he went on to receive a BA in Psychology, rabbinic ordination from RIETS, an MS from Azrieli School of Jewish Education, and he is currently completing his MSW from Wurzweiler School of Social Work. So what did Ari choose to do with all his degrees? Do Jewish outreach on a college campus of course! After spending a few years teaching in various high schools, Ari decided that his true passion is informal Jewish education. Having worked in Aish NY’s volunteer follow-up department for several years, he officially joined the campus department in 2014 as the Mountclair State Rabbi – at the time, making him the only single campus rabbi on the team. Fortunately it wasn’t long before Ari met Daniella, and she was thrilled to join him on campus just a few months after their wedding. They look forward to opening up their new home to the wonderful students of MSU.
